Motivational Pep Talk to Self
Has it happened to you when you simply stop caring and start doing things mechanically, just because you have to, and not because you want to?, I bet one million dollars that you have been there, and not only once, but many times across your life. And yes, I’ve been there too, actually I’m there at this moment while writing this article. The reason varies from person to person, but in my case, I think I’m just mentally and emotionally tired.
Perhaps it is infamous 40’s crisis that I thought it was a myth.
Perhaps it is because I’m not the successful 40 years old man I wanted to be when I was a kid.
Perhaps it is because I trust or expect too much from people and got disappointed easily.
Perhaps it is because I always give my 100% and not feel the appreciation of it in return.
To be honest, I’m a very simple man, I don’t need fancy stuff to be happy, I don’t base my happiness in possessions but in doing, creating, experience and accomplish things. And to do so, you need time, right?, the problem is that I don’t have the time to do all the things I want. I have so many uncompleted personal projects, for example the book I started 10 years ago, record an album with my songs I’ve wrote in the past two decades, develop that killer software product, create a solution to solve the world crisis and not telling anyone* etc.
I wish I could be that selfish as most successful people, but I always put others first than me. That sucks, but I can’t help it. Duh!
Then, in a moment of clarity I tell myself:
STOP WHINING, MAN UP AND MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.
I will design a poster with that phrase to see it every day. But when I have the time >.<
